We recently took a day trip to Cades Cove. It is in the smoky mountain national park where you drive along a rode to see old log homes, look at the scenery, and watch for wildlife. We saw a fox and a ton of deer this time. In the past we have also seen a black bear. Half way through the drive we stop and picnic, play ball, then head back on the rode. We have a great time being together as a family and always come home completely exhausted from the day.

Of course it turned into a leaf fight. Carter just loved getting leaves thrown at him; he thought it was so funny!

In this picture, Ryan really wanted to show Carter's belly and, of course, Samantha was going to see to it that his belly was covered.

How fun! I hope Jon and I can find some fun things to do around here when our fall weather arrives! I think Jon will really enjoy family adventures when Rowan is old enough to play with him- and laugh and smile at his dad. I love the picture of Samantha attacking the photographer- really cute. I also love the kid's group shot- Samantha covering 1/2 of Carter's belly- such a sister :0) And Ryan- such a boy :0) Looking forward to seeing you all in a few months!

I love Cades Cove. It is so beautiful and relaxing up there. We have taken many visitors up there to do some hiking...Hopfer style.
